Burnout?
Are your outlets experiencing job burnout? If people start experiencing job burnout we may start to do our job poorly or just stop working at all. Electrical outlets are the same way they will deliver electricity poorly or stop working at all. The main difference though is when people experience job burnout we probably won't throw sparks damage things and be a potential fire hazard. Let's talk about the progression of how are outlets get to the point of job burnout. When an outlet is brand new your connections to what you plug in are tight and everything works great. However over many years of plugging and unplugging things your electrical connections in the outlet become loose. When electrical connections become loose this can cause a myriad of problems including damaging your appliances, electronics and the outlet itself. Electronics such as TVs and computers are especially susceptible to damage. There is a whole chain reaction of electrical theory type stuff that starts happening with a loose electrical connection but I don't want to bore you with that. So next after your outlet becomes severely loose electricity will actually start jumping to make the connection we call this arcing. Arcing in your electrical outlet is actually a small version of when lightning strikes it is electricity jumping between two connections. When your outlet starts arcing bad enough you will begin to see black marks where you plug in your cords(DO NOT WAIT THIS LONG!!!!) this is no good. This can cause problems serious enough to make people call the fire department out of concern. So what can you do to avoid having these problems? The best advice I can give you is when you have an outlet that feels loose or the plug falls out of the wall replace that outlet before it becomes a major problem. So give me a call and let's replace your loose outlets before they do damage and experience job burnout.
Thanks John
